CYM's town-wide youth work strategy

Since then much has happened in the world of town-wide youth work. After Ignite there was a desire amongst many youth workers in the town to work together more, and in response to this CYM have been holding various meetings to discuss what a town wide youth strategy would look like. 

 

This work has now begun to crystallise. The overall vision is to build a counter cultural generational network of young people who are passionate to live for God and inspired to reach out to others. 

 

At their latest meeting the youth leaders discussed three areas of opportunity:

 

engage: to develop a town wide strategy that enables young people and their churches to reach out to other young people.

 

empower: to raise up a generation of young people passionate about living for God

equip: to support and encourage youth workers and their churches in their work amongst young people

 

Sarah Benham, CYM's Training & Development Coordinator, says “We believe that 2011 is a year of massive opportunity for youth work within the town and we will only be able to grasp this by working in unity and partnership.” 

 

“CYM passionately believes that to be effective this vision needs to be rooted in churches, working together in their local areas. To facilitate the strategy CYM are looking to develop a town wide network to help support and equip local churches in their work.”

 

“We would love to see as many churches as possible partnering with us in our town wide strategy.”
