The Hearth Presents Ipswich Community Gospel Choir
A “hearth” – for those of you who do not know – is a historic word for the fireplace. It was an integral part of the home; the central feature where the whole family came together.
This definition itself describes The Hearth perfectly. The stage is the captivating, warming fire, burning away brightly and beautifully. As with all open mic nights, the quality of the entertainment depends solely on the audience’s creativity and contribution and The Hearth has set the standard high.
There will be no questions in November about quality as having established itself as a successful open mic evening The Hearth is now branching out and welcoming to the stage the Ipswich Community Gospel Choir. The Hearth will be moving out from the back of a modern church and taking over the 300 seats of the main hall whilst maintaining the atmosphere of a [good] family occasion.
The choir has agreed to waive the booking fee and therefore we are able to open up the doors with free of charge for the pleasure and privilege of what is sure to be an amazing performance. Those who have seen the choir before will know that they will be raising the roof and providing a fabulous evening of music and it will be important to arrive early to ensure entry.
If this wasn’t enough there will be an interval will delicious delicacies with an international flavour provided by the ladies of local Suffolk charity the Zimbabwe Women’s Resource Centre (ZWRC).
ZWRC ( www.zwrc.org.uk) provides free friendly information and support for women, with a special emphasis on women and young people from African and ethnic minority background. The ZWRC provides assistance to victims of domestic violence in Suffolk.
Although entry and tasty treats are free we will be asking for donations towards the work of the ZWRC.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Hearth Presents on 26th November 2011 for a 7pm start.
